The Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) is the Official Record of Hip Hop.

Located in the Bronx, New York it is the place where Hip Hop will exponentially flourish.

UHHM is an acronym for Universal Hip Hop Museum.


What is Hip Hop?

Hip Hop is a cultural movement that started in the Bronx, New York.

It consists of five elements that have inspired, entertained and influenced

people all over the world.

What is the Hip Hop community?

The Hip Hop community is made up of people who are fans of and support Hip Hop globally.

Why is Hip Hop considered a culture?

Hip Hop is considered a culture because it has its own music, dance, art, way tof dress and community.

What are 5 elements of Hip Hop?

The five elements of Hip Hop are:

  • DJing: Is the mixing of music and sound to entertain.
  • Emceeing: Emceeing or rapping is a vocal element of Hip Hop. This is used to tell stories, make music and entertain people.
  • Breaking: This is the dance form of Hip Hop. Breaking is also known as Break Dancing which is a name the media has given to Breaking.
  • Graffiti: Graffiti/Writing is the visual art form of Hip Hop. It is used to tell stories and express the feelings of the artists. 
  • Knowledge: Knowledge is the fifth and often forgotten element of Hip Hop. Especially knowledge of self. This is why Education is an important part of Hip Hop and the UHHM’s mission. 

What Culture influenced Hip Hop?

Hip Hop has been influenced by many cultures but Caribbean, African and Latin cultures are its primary influences. You can see the influence in various dances, art, songs and fashion.
